Gap Year at Lodestar

Deciding what to do after high school is a major decision for any student. Many graduating seniors are faced with questions such as: Should I go to college? Which one? What should be my major? I don’t even know what career I want!

A gap year is typically the year between high school graduation and enrolling into college or entering a career field and gives students an opportunity to learn more about themselves and the world before making decisions that could impact the rest of their lives. In addition to experiential learning, engaging in real community with peers, and travel, a Christian gap year focuses on discovering what God wants for your life, biblical learning, and missions.

At the Gap Year at Lodestar, you will experience both classroom and life settings where you will be taught and equipped to live your faith. We incorporate local, interstate, and international topic-related travel because experiences enhance learning. We also do service hours and projects to develop and prepare servant leaders. Our gap year students can receive up to 27 credit hours through an accredited college, all while maturing in faith and developing a deeper relationship with the Savior.

Gap Year at Lodestar graduates choosing to continue their education through the accredited college will receive ongoing annual scholarships from the college as they finish their degree. Credits may be transferrable to other colleges and universities.
