Dear Friends,
Two weeks ago, our staff had the joy of sitting down with Josh Beers, President of OneLife Institute, at the Lodestar Mountain Inn. It was a wonderful time where we really began to capture the vision of what the gap year program will look like at the Lodestar Mountain Inn. As Josh spoke and our staff asked some really thought provoking questions, I could not hide my excitement about the possibilities and impact that this program will have on the youth of our country.
You see, a gap year program is designed for students in between high school and college who have a desire to develop positive character, learn discipleship, and serve others before heading off to college in preparation for their career. Students are choosing to do this nine-month program in order to be more Christ-like when they enter the next chapter of their lives. The thought alone amazes me. The OneLife program is a marvelous opportunity to invest in the lives of a new generation. The fruits of this labor will yield a high return as we begin sending young men and women into the professional world who are committed to being the reflection of Jesus in everything they do. Imagine a world like that!
Please be in prayer for all facets of this program. We will begin construction of the dormitories this month with the goal of welcoming our first students to the Lodestar Mountain Inn in one year. Many hands make light work. If you are able, we would love to serve shoulder to shoulder with you.
Blessings,
Steve
