Great Community Give 2021

Once again, we are excited to participate in the Great Community Give!  The Great Community Give, an initiative of the Community Foundation of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, is a one-day celebration of giving that encourages all members of the community to support their local nonprofits.   It provides a unique opportunity to invest in our local community and increase the capacity of nonprofits.  When you donate on Wednesday, April 21, you are enabling us to continue expanding the Kingdom for God’s glory.

Many prize opportunities will be held for Great Community Give participants.  Not only will your donation hold great value for this ministry, it may also make Wingfield Ministries eligible to win cash prizes throughout the day.  In addition to these prizes, our “Power Hour” is between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.  The more donations received within this hour, the more likely we will be to win a prize.

Support continues to increase for this unique campaign.  Over the past three years, the Great Community Give has raised a total of $1,617,336 for nonprofits serving the Harrisonburg-Rockingham area.  The goal for this community-wide event is to turn out hundreds of new and returning donors to help support local nonprofits. 

All donations received from this endeavor will be used to continue the construction of the Lodestar Mountain Inn.  Situated on 524 acres of beautiful West Virginia property, the inn is a place of refuge for countless individuals wearied by the struggles of life.  Whether it be pastors, veterans, families, or business leaders, the Lodestar Mountain Inn is designed to be a rustic getaway where folks from all walks of life can relax and take in the mountainous landscape.

Even before its grand opening, the Lodestar Mountain Inn has hosted countless guests.  Numerous Pastors Retreats, Bed and Breakfast Getaways, and other events have been held at the inn.  In addition, short stays by individuals and small groups looking for a quiet place of solace are regularly enjoyed. 

With the inn continually in use, funds are desperately needed to complete its facilities, as well as for everyday operations.  Our goal for the Great Community Give is to raise $100,000 toward this much-needed retreat center.  A dear friend of the ministry is offering a $50,000 matching challenge on this special day meaning your donation will have double the impact.
