Talladega was SUPER!!!
We loved being in Alabama for our first Victory Weekend in the Heart of Dixie. Steve and the crew enjoyed every minute of the event’s Southern hospitality as we partnered with A Band Called River (ABCR) to put on a program which was very well received by the large crowds who sought us out in the South Park Campground.
Friday night’s concert by ABCR blew away everything else going on that night. Saturday’s cornhole tournament and ABCR’s concert were huge hits with the throng of about 7,500 over the two days.
Our recognition and affirmation ceremonies Friday and Saturday for our nation’s heroes – veterans, active duty personnel, and local first responders – saw 163 men and women come forward to be honored. Not a dry eye in the crowd.
Steve said a short prayer over the people and Barry Steed, the leader of ABCR, met with people on a one-to-one basis with 12 people making a decision for Christ.
We are excited about the possibilities of doing other ministry partnerships at other tracks next season. Our thanks to A Band Called River for a successful Talladega debut.
