Last Sunday, Steve had the honor of preaching at Swansonville United Methodist Church in Dry Fork, VA, the home church of many of his childhood friends. During this worship service, Steve was flooded with emotions, as the last time he had spoken and served communion there was the last Sunday that his good friend Phil Herndon was able to attend during his battle with ALS. Steve took this awesome opportunity to visit with Phil’s wife Edith.

Steve was also delighted to hear good friend Ralph McCubbins, who Steve was in the glee club with, sing a solo as part of the special music provided by the choir.

God showed up at Swansonville United Methodist Church in a mighty way! It was a great morning, and several people heard the Lord calling and made decisions for Christ.

It is special anytime that Steve has the honor and privilege to share Jesus, but the opportunity to go home and see longtime friends adds even more to the blessing.
