Steve spoke at both services at New Beginnings Church in Harrisonburg, Virginia on Sunday, August 21. The combined attendance of 322 responded in record fashion to his moving sermon about forgiveness.
Inspired from John 4’s account of the Samaritan woman, Steve emphasized the facts that we too were once broken, and now, more than ever, we are to engage broken people as a part of our calling. Steve specially shared: “Tell your story. We are meant to take the initiative, and then, we let God do the rest.”
A total of 26 people came forward for prayer and to demonstrate how much Steve’s sermon had affected them. Office Administrator Linda Roy reported that she made 200 five-page copies of Steve’s sermon outline. Every single handout was taken! Before dismissing, Steve prayed for boldness and courage among the congregation as their commissioning before concluding.
Upon reflection, Steve mentioned that both services were awesome. “The power and presence of God was clearly evident. One gentleman came up and told me that it was the ‘best sermon I’ve ever heard in my life.’”
