The Victory Weekend team had an amazing time in the beautiful state of Michigan on June 6-8, 2019. This fabulous weekend began in Cement City, Michigan, at the New Jerusalem Christian Fellowship, where we were invited to hold a Finish A Winner community event. We had a wonderful time meeting new friends and reconnecting with old friends while enjoying a hot dog roast as the community marveled at the #79 Victory Weekend showcar. Pastor Vernon Zook shared with those in attendance and taught the crowd how to truly run your race with honor and in victory. During this event, we had the great fortune to minister to 125 people from the Cement City community, honor 8 heroes, and, most importantly, we welcomed 3 people into the family of God. It was the perfect way to begin our ministry in Michigan.
Our next stop was the Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan, at the Juniper Hills Campground. The fans were loud and ready to spend race weekend with the entire Victory Weekend team. Our dear friends, Jeff Polen Band and Jess Zimmerman Band, entertained the 2,800 fans in attendance. Both groups gave a great performance and could be seen interacting with the fans throughout the event. The fans were also treated in a meet and greet with NASCAR driver and Victory Weekend friend Quin Houff, driver of the #77 Spire racecar. During the Saturday night concert, Pastor Vernon shared a message of the hope only found in Jesus Christ. During this powerful message, we were privileged to honor 10 American heroes and we are thrilled that five people made the life-changing decision to commit their lives to Jesus!
It was a great weekend of ministry at both events and we cannot wait to make our return to Michigan in August! Thank you to everyone who went to minister and who was ministered to, we could not have had such a successful trip without you.
