What a blessing the 7th annual Memorial Day Community Celebration was! A very special thank you to the sponsors, volunteers, participants, performers, and those in attendance, as well as all of you who prayed for this event. Over 1,400 of our friends from across the Shenandoah Valley came out for a day of celebrating faith, family, freedom, and family!
We were blessed to be joined by the Brandenberger Family, Jeff Polen Band, Jessica Crawford, and John Schmid to provide great music on the Victory Weekend stage. The crowd was delighted by over 130 classic cars and trucks, mouth-watering food vendors, arts & crafts vendors displaying their artisanship, and an exciting children’s area including inflatable games, face painting, balloon sculptures by Party Magic, and a special presentation by children’s minister, Earl Long of Vertical Kids Ministry.
The Lord was present during this celebration, and all who were there experienced His almighty blessings. The Victory Weekend team, with a strong feeling of honor, placed 74 medals around the necks of brave veterans. Many of these brave men and women stood with pride and a tear in their eye as Steve shared with them of the love that we all have for them as well as the everlasting love of Jesus Christ. It was certainly a special moment for everyone at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds.
When you have a successful event such as this, it serves as motivation and “fuel” to replicate it. Our team has already been in discussions on what we need to do to ensure that the Memorial Day Community Celebration on Monday, May 25, 2020, will be our best one yet!
The 8th annual Memorial Day Community Celebration is going to be an amazing time!
