MDCC is Almost Here and You’re Invited!
on May 24, 2017

Our 5th annual Memorial Day Community Celebration is only days away!  You are invited to join us Monday, May 29th at 4 p.m. at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds for great music, food, a classic car cruise-in, activities for the kids, and more.  We are excited and anticipating an evening of fun and fellowship with great friends – old and new.

Here’s a quick bio for the artists you’ll see performing on our Victory Weekend stage:

  • John Schmid – a long-time friend of Steve’s, John is the founder of Common Ground Ministries located in Berlin, Ohio.  The ministry’s primary focus is on the Ohio Corrections Systems.  In a typical year John ministers in more than 50 prisons, 30 churches, four to five camps, six evangelistic crusades, 40 banquets, street fairs, seminars, as well as numerous concerts and living rooms.
  • Audra McLaughlin – Audra gained international recognition from season 6 of NBC’s hit show The Voice.  Since the show, she continues to sing and write new music.  She has opened for a variety of country superstars and is a regular at our Victory Weekend events.
  • Jessie Pugh – Jessie is a contemporary, country singer/songwriter from Bridgewater, Virginia.  Jessie is a featured cast member on a national TV show, Virginia Dreams, which airs weekly on RFD-TV on Saturday nights at 7:30 PM and Sunday mornings at 7:00 AM.
  • Polen Band – The Contemporary Christian Music worship/rock band Polen was formed in the summer of 2008. Today, Polen has emerged as a band that feels called to preach and teach. The band is currently in the recording studio working on multiple projects.
  • The Little Roy and Lizzy Show – Lizzy has had a variety of recognition for her superior talents including being inducted into America’s Old Time Fiddlers Country Hall of Fame and winning Best Bluegrass Song of the Year.  Little Roy also has a number of achievements including being inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, SPGBMA Hall of Greats, IBMA Hall of Honor, and the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame.

Vertical Kids Ministry may have the most important task of all – entertaining the young and young at heart!  Earl and Kimberly are full-time entertainers/evangelists and have performed several hundred shows up and down the East Coast, Mid-West and in the Bahamas and in over 100 venues including schools, churches, camps, civic auditoriums and on cruise ships.  Earl and Kimberly have a passion for young people.  They desire to see kids and teens receive Christ, grow in the Lord and then become great Christian leaders who are reaching out and leading others to Christ.

This event couldn’t be possible without the generous donations from our sponsors.  Head over to our MDCC page for a complete listing of sponsors.  We hope to see you at the fairgrounds!
