Dear Friends,
The long anticipated wait is almost over. By the time you read another one of these letters from me, it will be after the 7th annual Memorial Day Community Celebration. I want to take these moments to invite you and encourage you to invite your friends to the Rockingham County Fairgrounds on Sunday, May 26 at 5 p.m. and Monday, May 27 at 4 p.m. for two days of exciting events.
On Sunday night, we will be holding the Memorial Day Youth Celebration for all of the Shenandoah Valley teenagers, parents, youth leaders, and youth pastors. This will be a great experience for everyone, full of praise and relevant speaking to the lives, hearts, and souls of our young people. Please prayerfully consider making this night a priority as you speak with your family and friends.
The following day will be the Memorial Day Community Celebration and our team has put in a lot of work to ensure that no one will leave disappointed! Activities include talented musicians entertaining the crowd on the Victory Weekend stage throughout the evening and so much more. You can have your picture taken beside or behind the wheel of the number 79 Victory Weekend Show Car, which originally raced in NASCAR. Enjoy a scenic view of the event from the tethered RE/MAX hot air balloon. Taste fabulous foods from a number of local food trucks and vendors. Browse through the arts and crafts created by brilliant artisans. Watch your children as they have a great time bouncing on inflatables, having their face painted, or receive a balloon sculpture. You can also reminisce about the “good ol’ days” by walking through the classic car and truck cruise-in. As I mentioned earlier, your family will not be disappointed.
Most importantly, we all will stop and honor the very ones who ensure that we have the freedoms we so dearly enjoy, our military veterans, active duty personnel, and first responders. These selfless patriots deserve our appreciation and gratitude, and even though they may humbly deflect this praise, we are going to honor them nonetheless!
So, come on out to the Rockingham County Fairgrounds on Sunday, May 26 and Monday, May 27 and celebrate faith, family, friendship, and freedom with us. Better yet, bring your whole family and all of your friends. You will be glad you did.
Blessings,
Steve
