I have been doing a lot of traveling lately visiting with friends to keep them up to date on what is happening at the ministry. It has been a wonderful experience because God has blessed me with scores of friends who are a life-giving source of inspiration to me.
A few years ago I wrote The Friendship Book. The last chapter is titled Friendship, the Verb. For as long as I can remember, God has shown me that friends are one of the most valuable assets a person could have. In the book I urged the reader to make friendship a verb – an intentional act every day for the rest of your life.
Today, more than ever, I believe that true friends are forever. A couple of my friends were quoted in the book as saying, “Friends who live in the Lord never see each other for the last time.” Think about that. Even after we leave this earth we will be with our friends for eternity. I don’t know about you but I find great hope and comfort in that thought.
Take time to cultivate and nurture your friendships by being a steadfast friend. There are unlimited spiritual rewards when you are a friend that “loves at all times.” (Prov. 17:17) God bless you and your friendships.
