At this time of year, I find myself thinking about faith and freedom a little more than usual. One of my favorite scriptures is 2 Corinthians 3:17 where Paul tells us, “Wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
I am so thankful that I live in a country founded by men and women who were strong Christian believers. It is apparent to me that the Spirit of the Lord guided them in their decisions to allow them to craft such a remarkable Constitution.
Even though the nation is facing great challenges, I am more confident than ever that God is in control and that His plan will ultimately prevail. One of my constant prayers is found in Leviticus 25:10, “Set this year apart as holy, a time to proclaim freedom throughout the land for all who live there” (NLT). A part of this verse, in the King James Version, is inscribed on the Liberty Bell as a reminder that God desires His people to live in His freedom.
My prayer for you is that you know Him and that you are living your life in the special kind of spiritual freedom found only in an intimate relationship with Him.
