Dear Friends,
As many of you know, the Lord gave me a vision to do something impactful for pastors dealing with mental fatigue and burnout. As a direct result, the Lodestar Mountain Inn was born. The mission of the Lodestar Mountain Inn is to be a refuge for restoration within the midst of God’s majestic beauty, and we are hopeful and grateful that the Lord would allow us to fulfill His work.
However, when you are doing anything to please the Lord, the devil does not want it to happen, and he will attempt to sabotage you. In December, friends from Ohio drove to Smoke Hole to help erect the frame for what would be our Event Center. Just a few days later, a windstorm came across the region and demolished the erected frame, destroying lumber dating back to the 1840’s.
At first, we were devastated. The Event Center is an integral part of this ministry resource. After a time of prayer, we realized that if the devil is adamantly against the power and healing that the Lodestar Mountain Inn will bring, we must be doing something right. I am reminded of Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV), “’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”
Fast forward to present day and you’ll experience the Lord’s goodness as we are diligently working on the Event Center with new lumber donated to the cause. I heard it said once, “To have a testimony, one must face numerous tests.” We have faced a number of tests during this construction, but our Lord remains faithful.
Blessings,
Steve
