My faith, family, and friends are the bedrock of my life. I recently had the blessing of combining all three during a pair of trips to Pennsylvania.
My wife Barbara’s parents had an estate farm sale. I volunteered to help relatives, long time friends, and local town’s people park their cars and had a great time. It was fun and rewarding to renew acquaintances, meet new people, and share an encouraging word with everyone. In many ways it was like an impromptu family reunion, and I came away feeling very refreshed and renewed.
I also got to visit the former home of Amos and Mary Stolzfus who were beloved and steadfast supporters of the ministry. Amos and Mary used to host frequent crab pickings. Their son and daughter in law Ike and Julie Stolzfus held one in their honor and graciously invited me and let me bring along ten friends. It was an absolutely wonderful time of memories, fellowship, and of course delicious eating. You’ve probably heard what is said about picking and eating crab meat. “You don’t get full, you get tired.”
I am always thankful for those small life moments which affirm that investing in the people yields Kingdom dividends. May your life be blessed with an abundance of meaningful relationships.
