Springtime has arrived and new life is springing forth all around us. Speaking of new life, we are so excited and overjoyed to welcome back two of our favorite events: Victory Weekend at Dover International Speedway and the Memorial Day Community Celebration.
On April 28 and 29, Victory Weekend will be returning to its home away from home: the Lot 10 Campground at the iconic “Monster Mile” in Dover, Delaware. It has been a few years, but I am grateful that, once again, we get the opportunity to do what this ministry does best – tell everyone who can hear about the glory of the Lord and His unwavering love and mercy. There is something special about being among the raucous fans at the NASCAR races. They are full of life and excitement and they welcome us with arms wide open, and when we take those special moments to show appreciation for our first responders and military veterans, that “buzz” that was all about racing turns into a frenzy of gratitude for these heroes. Joining us to bring entertainment to the Lot 10 Campground will be Charee White. It is going to be an amazing weekend of family-friendly entertainment, fellowship, and a lot of Jesus!
Just one month after the Dover Victory Weekend, we will welcome summer in grand fashion at the 8th Annual Memorial Day Community Celebration on Monday, May 29 at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds. I always get excited about this celebration, but this year I am more excited than ever! We have an amazing schedule of events and activities that every family will enjoy, including a cruise-in car show, inflatables for the kids, food vendors for every palette, some of the best local musicians you will ever hear, and a performance artist who will paint a mural in a moving tribute to our first responders and United States military veterans. Most importantly, we will share the gospel message from the Victory Weekend stage. The culmination will be a concert performed by Dove Award nominee and breakthrough group Cochren & Company. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and invite your friends and family. This is a day that you will not want to miss!
