Dover VW Report
on June 6, 2017

Dover proved to be one of our most successful events ever. There was a great crowd and a wonderful response to the gospel. We had 50 decisions for Christ and we honored 42 veterans, active duty military, and first responders. Thursday night we did a Finish A Winner event and partnered with Raceway Ministries at the Greensboro Baptist Church in Maryland. Pastor Vernon Zook spoke to them about how the NASCAR flags relate to their relationships with Jesus Christ, and attendees enjoyed the #79 show car and acoustic music by Jess Zimmerman. We are extremely grateful to Raceway Ministries and the partnership that they provide with their hospitality tent at our campground events.

Friday we spent the afternoon and early evening at the Dover Air Force Base for a family night event, and then we moved to Lot 10 at Dover International Speedway for the evening concert and NASCAR driver interview with Josh Reaume! All the fans were very responsive and brought lots of good interaction. Saturday night included a great concert and the gospel being shared, and God showed up and spoke to many hearts. One of the highlights of the weekend was on Saturday night when a gentleman with stage four cancer prayed to receive Christ.

Sunday morning we headed to Kirkwood, Pennsylvania to Mount Vernon Christian Church for a NASCAR Sunday. Steve spoke in Sunday school giving an update about the ministry and the opportunities God has provided for us to share the gospel, and he also encouraged pastors to stay faithful to the gospel of Christ. During the church service, we honored 5 veterans including a Purple Heart recipient who fought in Vietnam. We concluded the day with fellowship and delicious BBQ chicken from Buzz’s BBQ Chicken and Catering.

Thanks for all your prayers and your financial support. We could not do what we’re doing without friends like you standing with us. Our next Victory Weekend event will be at Michigan International Speedway June 16-18. Pray for us as we hit the road for another chance to share the gospel!
