Harrisonburg First Church of the Nazarene was beautifully decorated for the season while it hosted the ministry’s Christmas Appreciation Banquet on December 7th. We honored more than 120 Kingdom Builder volunteers for their steadfast help with a multitude of projects throughout the year, and over 200 people were in attendance! We are thrilled to have so many friends. What we do wouldn’t be possible without you.
The Kingdom Builders, Board members, friends of SWEA, and Victory Weekend Ministries, staff and families enjoyed a magnificent buffet, carols from Amy and Caitlin McAvoy, and much more.
It was a warm, intimate evening of fellowship emceed by Director of Ministry Relations Luke Weaver, who kept the program going with humorous variations on “The Night Before Christmas”. The church’s senior pastor, Reverend Kerry Willis, offered the evening’s prayer, and after the meal the whole group enjoyed carols from Amy and Caitlin McAvoy. Steve presented a special video updating the audience on the year’s highlights. Steve also spoke passionately about his vision for 2016 and beyond about the exciting Inn in West Virginia.
Reverend Vernon Zook from the Abundant Life Church in Sarasota, Florida challenged everyone to support the ministry with their prayers and finances as much as possible so that men, women, and young people will hear the gospel at race tracks, campgrounds, and other venues.
The evening ended as people lingered talking to old and new friends before heading home after an evening honoring God and His servants.
