The Longfellow line, “into each life some rain must fall” became very true for the Victory Weekend team at the Bristol race weekend. Rain cut short performances by Southern Edge Band, Charee White, and Daniel Johnson both at the downtown State Street stage and at the Bristol Campground on Thursday. They were able to expose tens of thousands of people to their special brand of music during their time on stage and whet appetites for more.
The weather on Friday cooperated long enough to let us get about two-thirds of the way through our program at the campground but prevented us from conducting our tribute to the veterans, active duty personnel, and local first responders. While we were a little disappointed that we weren’t able to conduct our full program we were very pleased with the response we did get and with the always exceptional performances from the Victory Weekends artists.
We are now readying for the Monster Mile in Dover and the AAA 400 race weekend September 26-28 at Lot 10.
