I have been thinking a lot lately about the apostle Paul. The more I read and reread his letters to the first century followers spread around the Great Sea (the Mediterranean) region, I am astounded by his unwavering perseverance and his intense passion to reach as many people as he possibly could with the gospel.
I am learning from Paul as I follow Dr. Jerry Falwell’s words to me to “use every available means to reach every available person.” Paul withstood multiple imprisonments, beatings, a shipwreck, and various other obstacles while he traveled preaching the Good News of Christ.
Can I do less? Absolutely not! While I am very thankful that I do not have to endure the hardships that Paul did, I am trying very hard to emulate his intense vision to spread Jesus’ life-saving and life-changing messages of hope and salvation.
Like Paul and his associates Timothy, Barnabas, Silvanus (Silas), and others, our ministry is now exercising bold faith by going where the people are already gathered to present the gospel to them. Victory Weekends are the result of a powerful vision God gave me a long time ago and it is such a blessing to now watch it take shape, grow, and bear fruit.
Once again, I identify with Paul as he requested prayer saying, “Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel.” (Eph. 6:19 NIV) Thank you for your prayers and support.
