On Tuesday, October 2 the Steve Wingfield Evangelistic Association (SWEA) held its third and final banquet of the year at Yoder’s Restaurant in New Holland, PA. The banquet was a great success with many friends, old and new, joining with the ministry to share a meal together and enjoy musical entertainment provided by John Schmid.
The evening was emceed by the ministry’s Director of Ministry Relations, Luke Weaver. A slideshow scrolled highlighting pictures of the past years events as well as logos from banquet sponsors as people entered the banquet room. John Schmid provided musical entertainment following dinner. John is the founder of Common Ground Ministries and has been a long-time friend of the ministry as well as Steve and has performed at numerous ministry events.
The hearts of the people were awakened as Steve gave an update on the recent Victory Weekend event at the Dover International Speedway. Jim McBride, director of Raceway Ministries at the track, traveled from Delaware to share with the attendees his heart for the fans of NASCAR and to give his seal of approval to Victory Weekend events. Through the powerful testimony Jim shared the audience was able to catch the vision and great need for this type of event.
The evening concluded with a benediction given by Reverend J.R. Damiani and an invitation for pastors to come forward and pray over Steve.
As a way of expressing appreciation to those in attendance each person received a copy of Share the Bounty, Steve’s latest co-authored book which was released days before the banquet. Share the Bounty is the sequel to Come to the Table and has received great reviews in the weeks following its release.
The ministry would like to extend its sincerest appreciation to the volunteers who helped with the event as well as the sponsors who made the evening possible. We look forward to the coming year where we can once again spend time with our dearest friends.
