Dear Friends,
As you read this, fear, questions, and anxiety are all around us. Each day, we are inundated by new reports of the coronavirus and the possible projections of the near future that do not look good. In times such as these, our faith is firmly tested; this is why we must look to the Lord for guidance and comfort. Second Chronicles 7:14 (NIV) tells us, “if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
As you continue reading this, I do not believe that this occurrence has fallen before us because our God is vengeful; however, I feel that this is a time that we can refocus our sights on the Lord. Instead of trying to get through crises such as these, if we humbly seek the Lord in every situation, He has promised to hear our cries and restore our beautiful land.
In no way does this mean we will live a perfect life, free of hardships. We live in an imperfect world. This profound assurance granted to us by the God of this universe is simply that, a promise. There are moments in this life where we are going to have struggles, we are going to have questions, and we are going to have fears. In those moments, as believers, we must lead the way to our Father in Heaven. I encourage you in these coming days and months, if you and those around you are in a place of fear, doubt, and anxiety, make the decision to take those feelings directly to our God.
In times such of these, we all could use a little more hope.
In Christ alone,
Steve
