In times of tragedy or need, I believe it is incumbent on all believers to do whatever they can to help alleviate the suffering of others. As all of you know, southeast Texas was devastated by Hurricane Harvey. News reports have stated that approximately 34,000 people have been displaced from their homes.

Lives have been lost. Homes have been destroyed. Dreams have been forever changed. However, in the darkest hour, there is always hope. Our hope is built on Jesus Christ.

There are many people in Texas who need to see this hope in action. To most, passing out water, towels, or food would be a way of meeting someone’s physical needs, but we are called to “be the hands and feet of Christ,” and as we give them these much needed supplies, we are also giving them hope.

Please join us in praying for the people of southeast Texas – those who have been displaced, those who lost a loved one, those who may never return to a house they called home. Also, pray for the number of selfless volunteers who are in that area trying to make a difference.
