Time flies when you are having fun! June was PACKED with many wonderful ministry opportunities, and I thank God for each one of them. In the midst of ministry I also took time to smell some roses.
One of those was spending time with one of my best friends and ministry partners Pete Lulusa. Pete and I have know each other for almost 30 years and we have traveled all over the world together. He sings and I preach. My daughter Michelle says the reason we are such good friends is that we have heard every joke that each of us has told and we still laugh at them. Pete knows me as well as or better than anyone. While in Chicago we enjoyed two evenings together. It was VERY special.
On Saturday, July 1, Barb and I drove to Bedford, Virginia for a VERY special birthday celebration. We celebrated my sister Kathryn’s 90th birthday. By the way, she named me Steve. My mom and dad had named me Mark and she said, “I am going to call him Steve, even if you name him Mark,” so they changed my name to Stephen. We also celebrated Arthur’s 85th, Lawrence and Wayne will be 80 on the 7th of July, and I turned 70 on June 1! We had a great time together.
After having lunch together, Wayne, Barb, and I climbed to the top of the Peaks of Otter (Actually since it was 90 degrees, we rode the bus most of the way and then hiked the last 1/4 of a mile, but we did hike all the way down).
God has been so good to our family!
I hope you are enjoying your summer.
Blessings,
Steve
