Thanks so much for praying for the Victory Weekend team in Charlotte! John Birmingham and Joe Mattis represented Victory Weekend at the Rock City Campgrounds in Concord for the Bank of America 500 race weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway. It was a great few days connecting with other organizations, drivers, team members, and fans. We made scores of new friends as well as acquaintances with quite a few contacts in the NASCAR community.
The guys from Smokin’ at the Track pitched in a big way by serving meals to track security personnel and by putting on cooking demonstrations and feeding samples to the fans. Our partners (Raceway Ministries and Smokin’ at the Track) fed over 600 people during the weekend. Even though rain curtailed the size of the crowds, John and Joe were still able to interact with 700 fans Friday and Saturday. The #79 Victory Weekend show car was a big hit as people continue to enjoy having their pictures taken in and around the car, but it was only available on Friday due to rain.
We are now focused on preparing for our fantastic opportunity to be a major presence at the Ford Championship weekend at the Homestead-Miami Speedway November 20-22. It’s going to be a great way to wrap up the year. Please be in prayer for the Victory Weekend team because this is a huge opportunity for us to be able to go to more track locations in 2016. We’re ready to use every available means to reach every available person!
