Watkins Glen Report
on August 11, 2015

The Watkins Glen KOA is one of the most beautiful RV parks Victory Weekend has ever seen!

On Thursday night, the Chambers Wesleyan Camp Finish A Winner (FAW) event was one of the best FAW events yet. The location was superb. The church and staff are excited about the opportunity to make this an annual event. At the FAW event, 20 military personnel were honored with medals, and 6 people made decisions for Christ. Even though the crowd was smaller (175-200 people) for a new event, the response and support were phenomenal!

The Victory Weekend event at the KOA campground near Watkins Glen went extremely well. Every camper, staff member, and youngster that the Victory Weekend team spoke with thoroughly enjoyed the music, fellowship, and atmosphere.  Friday night, there were a couple hundred people throughout the evening, and a ton of folks sat at the patio of their RV lot with a fire pit and listened from there. Saturday night, there was an amazing amount of support from all in attendance. Thirty military personnel were honored with medals and 22 made a decision for Christ. At the time of casting the net and honoring the Veterans, crowd estimates were at 175-200 people, but overall Saturday night about 250 people came by the site.  All in all, 450 people came by the stage both nights.

One of the most touching and amazing stories from this weekend–after hanging medals, three young veterans turned to a Vietnam veteran and took their medals off and hung them around his neck with his medal, stating that he deserved them far more than they did!

Thank you so much for your prayers and support.  Please keep praying for the team this weekend at Michigan.
