Dear Friend,

One of the greatest gifts we can give another person is fervent prayer. In a world filled with hurried schedules, heavy burdens, and hurting hearts, we must never underestimate the power of bringing someone before the Lord. James 5:16 (KJV) reminds us that “the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” Prayer is more than a kind thought or a passing promise; it is an intentional act of love that carries others’ needs to the One who can provide comfort, strength, wisdom, and hope. Yet, compassion often begins before we ever bow our heads. It begins when we slow down long enough to notice someone who is struggling and intentionally ask, “How can I serve you?” That simple question lets someone know that they are seen, valued, and not forgotten.

My friend, presence matters. Sometimes we feel we must have the right words, a perfect answer, or a solution to someone’s pain before we can help. But often, the most Christlike thing we can do is simply show up, listen, pray, and walk alongside someone through a difficult season. Jesus consistently made time for people, saw their needs, and responded with compassion. May we follow His example by not being so busy doing things for God that we overlook the people He has placed right in front of us. Let us pray fervently for one another, serve willingly, and love intentionally. You may never know how much a phone call, a listening ear, a heartfelt prayer, or a simple offer to help can mean to someone who is hurting. May the Lord make us people whose prayers are sincere, whose compassion is active, and whose presence reminds others that they are not alone.

Blessings,
