Dear Friends,
In a few days, we will celebrate the birth of our great nation and thank the Lord for the independence and freedom we so often take for granted. I urge you to take time away from the picnics, wiffle ball games, and fireworks to reflect on the freedoms that we not only delight in as a nation, but the freedom that is found in Christ alone.
Being able to live free is an amazing gift. However, it is not license to do whatever we want, whenever we want. Rather, true freedom is being the truest version of ourselves in accordance with the Lord’s perfect will, remaining in step with the very One who first loved us.
This Fourth of July, make it a point to declare your independence from the world and place your total dependence upon the Lord. In doing so, you will be free, indeed.
Blessings,
