Dear Friends,
Greetings! I pray you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! Typically, we would spend that day celebrating friendship, family, and faith at the annual Memorial Day Community Celebration at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds, and I cannot wait until next May when we will be able to once again.
Memorial Day is the unofficial beginning of summer and it is a long weekend full of picnics and fun. However, we cannot forget the true reason behind this occasion. Memorial Day is a day to memorialize, honor, and reflect on those brave men and women who laid it all on the line and gave the ultimate sacrifice to ensure the freedoms we have in this beautiful country.
I encourage all of you to not only think about the selfless sacrifice our military heroes have made on the last Monday in May, but to daily remember the price that was paid on your behalf.
May we never forget those who have stood and fallen on the front lines.
Blessings.
