Wow, what a way to end the 2019 Victory Weekend season! The Victory Weekend team had another spectacular time at the Lot 10 Campground in Dover, Delaware. It was an impactful time of full of friends, ministry, and memories. 3,800 people came out to the Victory Weekend stage to hear two great nights of concerts. At this event, a new member of the Victory Weekend team joined us and those in attendance were thankful she did. Aubrey Rey, who appeared on the hit television show, American Idol, performed both nights and could be seen signing autographs after the show for over an hour and a half. We also welcomed back Southern Edge Band, one of our crowd favorites. Every musician who took the stage did a phenomenal job and filled the entire campground with great music.
Saturday night was a very eventful time at the Lot 10 Campground. Pastor Jim McBride from Delaware Raceway Ministry used the stage to officiate a marriage ceremony. We have seen many great times and created our fair share of lasting memories at Victory Weekends at different NASCAR venues, but this was truly unique. We also had the distinct honor of recognizing 41 veterans, active military personnel, and first responders. As our team presented these heroes with medals, the thousands in attendance showered them in applause and deep-felt gratitude. Following the moving tribute, Pastor Vernon Zook prayed over those honored and spoke to the crowd about a hope and love that can only be found in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The Lord began to move in these moments and we were thrilled to see 22 people make the life-altering decision to accept Jesus as the Savior of their lives.
Dover is always an amazing time and this Victory Weekend event was no different. We love what we do and we cannot wait to get back to the Lot 10 Campground in 2020!
