Dear Friends,
Missionary Amy Carmichael once said, “You can always give without loving, but you can never love without giving.” As those who have been set apart, having chosen to embrace the love and mercy of a great, great Father, it is incumbent upon us to not only speak of love, but exhibit love. To say that you “love” something or someone is not enough, it requires action. The conscious effort to tangibly express this unwavering, unending compassion and emotion. Jesus often expressed His love to His disciples and those who gathered around him, but his love was on full display when He paid the price for our sins on an old rugged cross.
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13 (NIV)
At the Lodestar Mountain Inn, the Lord is gracing this ministry with the opportunity to love those in need just as Jesus did. This retreat center will be a beacon of hope for those who may be desperately sailing adrift in the darkest of nights, facing the raging water. People, similar to you or I, in need of a renewal, refreshing, healing, and hope. Let’s face it, we live in a broken world that can be rough and take toll. Many are dealing with the scars and bruises caused by this life. It is our duty to help them stand when they cannot, and help them raise their arms when their strength is fleeting.
You can help us stand in the gap for those hurting among us!
I urge you to prayerfully consider partnering with us during the Great Community Give on Wednesday April 17, 2019, from 6:30 a.m. – 8 p.m. It’s a day devoted to online charitable giving, sponsored by The Community Foundation of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County (VA), as their way of supporting the area nonprofit organizations that are making an impact. This fundraising effort will bring us even closer to becoming fully operational. To learn more, visit our Great Community Give web page by clicking here.
Now is the moment to let our love lead the way.
Blessings,
Steve
