Victory Weekend at Dover a big success!
on June 3, 2014

Steve and the Victory Weekend team just returned from an absolutely blessed series of events surrounding the race at Dover International Speedway’s famous Monster Mile.

The Victory Weekend stage was located in a prime spot in the legendary Lot 10 and was abuzz with activity on Friday and Saturday. With appreciative crowds estimated close to 3,000 looking on, soloists Kelsey Abbott and Charee White wowed them with their own unique musical styles. Randy-Paul played an amazing set of “outlaw” tunes and headliners Southern Edge Band got their customary great crowd response.

As usual, the Victory Weekend #79 Show Car was a big hit with kids of all ages wanting to check it out. (See pictures at victoryweekend.com)

The special Victory Weekend tribute to veterans, active duty, and local police, fire, and rescue personnel was powerful. With help from volunteers from Raceway Ministries, 105 men and women were honored for their sacrificial service.

While Steve preached at a local church on Saturday night, pastor and SWEA Board Member Vernon Zook addressed the men, women, and young people telling them that Jesus came so that they could enjoy the abundant life in Him. He pointed out that, like the veterans, Jesus laid His life on the line and is deserving of their honor. 54 people indicated a declaration of faith and many came up afterward thanking Vernon for inspiring them.

Steve spent Saturday night and Sunday (his birthday) morning preaching at 4 services at Crossroad Community Church in Georgetown, DE. He reported that he spoke to about 2,800 people with about 50 declaring a new or renewed commitment to Christ.

As you can see, it was a weekend full of God’s favor and direction. The Victory Weekend team functioned as a well oiled machine which yielded results blessed by God.

Michigan is next (June 13-15). Please pray for all aspects of that important event.
