Dear Friend,
As America celebrates its 250th birthday, we have a unique opportunity to reflect on our nation’s history and give thanks to God for His faithfulness through the generations. For two and a half centuries, the United States has endured challenges, celebrated victories, and experienced countless blessings. Scripture reminds us, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD … ” (Psalm 33:12[NIV]). While our nation’s strength has been shaped by courageous leaders and citizens, we recognize that God’s providence and grace have guided us through every season.
Throughout the Bible, God calls His people to remember His faithfulness. Just as Moses instructed Israel to remember how the Lord had led them (Deuteronomy 8:2), Americans can look back and see God’s hand at work throughout our history. From the pursuit of religious freedom by early settlers to the perseverance shown during times of war, hardship, and division, God’s blessings have been evident. Yet this anniversary is not only a time for celebration but also for humility, as Proverbs 14:34 reminds us that “Righteousness exalts a nation ...” (NIV). We are called to seek God’s wisdom, pray for our leaders, and recommit ourselves to the values that honor Him.
As we look toward the future, our greatest hope is not found in government, wealth, or human achievement, but in the Lord. The Apostle Paul encouraged believers to pray for those in authority (1 Timothy 2:1-2), and there is no better way to honor America’s 250th birthday than by seeking God’s guidance for our nation. May this historic milestone inspire gratitude for the freedoms we enjoy, remembrance of those who sacrificed before us, and renewed faith in Jesus Christ, whose kingdom endures forever. As 2 Chronicles 7:14 reminds us, when God’s people humble themselves, pray, and seek His face, He is faithful to hear and heal.
Blessings,
