Victory Weekend at Bristol Report
on April 24, 2017

This past weekend we had another great Victory Weekend in spite of the weather. God continues to give us great favor with the events that we’re doing. Bristol is no exception; actually, Bristol Motor Speedway gave us the opportunity to do the first Victory Weekend in 2011. I tell people that this was when I learned how not to do these events. The first one was too labor-intensive and too expensive, but God used it to open my eyes to an outreach event where the fields are, as John says, “white for harvest.”

This was the 25th anniversary of Food City sponsoring the Bristol race. The Lord has blessed us with a great working relationship with Food City. The Victory Weekend team performed on stage in the Food City Fan Zone. Our band played, and Levi Riggs, Jess Zimmerman, and Audra McLaughlin all sang. As usual, Audra knocked the ball out of the park when she sang the national anthem, and Jess sang God Bless America after we had honored over 60 veterans and prayed over them as part of the program.

We moved from the Food City Fan Zone to the Victory Weekend stage at the Race Day Center RV Park for our Friday night event. We love this new location because it’s located directly across from the track, and once again God is showing us great favor and we’re developing a long-term relationship with this campground. All three singers performed and we had two drivers share their testimonies, Josh Reaume and Quin Houff.

As I said, we battled weather all weekend, and on Saturday, following the race, we started early because of the weather report. After the band played for about 30 minutes, I took the stage and we honored veterans, prayed over them, and also shared the gospel. And then the rain came, so the remainder of Saturday evening was canceled. The Lord is in control and He’s keeping the score. I was reminded once again that any of us can count the seeds that are in the apple, but only God knows how many apples are in a seed. My heart’s desire is to be faithful to God’s call upon my life and to use every available means to reach every available person. Yes, it was a great weekend because people were reached with the gospel and seeds were planted.

Thanks for all your prayers and your faithful support,

Steve Wingfield
