Steve always enjoys visiting Journey Christian Fellowship and investing in the congregation across the road from Wingfield Ministries. A congregation of 25 people heard Steve’s message of “The Lamps of Life,” where Steve utilized the parable of Matthew 25:1-13 to share about the wise and foolish bride keepers and their responsibility to keep their lamps burning.
Luke Weaver appreciated how much Steve shared and invested in the congregation on Sunday, January 22. Luke is the church’s pastor, the Director of Ministry Relations at Wingfield Ministries, and a great friend of Steve. Luke attests to the wisdom that Steve brings in every message he preaches. “When you write a book like The Friendship Book, you need to be an expert in friendship. Steve is an expert, so he knows what he is talking about.”
When asked about an important point of Steve’s sermon, Luke mentioned that while tragic, we as Christians need to shed light on the truth of this parable. “Steve talked about the lamps that go out, and they are lost forever.”
Steve offered an invitation for those in the church to choose Jesus by preparing their lamps for Him. Three people responded, and we praise God for these three new light-bearers for Jesus! May they be encouraged and inspired to keep the faith and follow faithfully after Jesus.
Steve appreciated the time and opportunities to talk with the congregation about how they were impacted by the message. Receiving their feedback shows that God is speaking through Steve and making a difference for God’s Kingdom.
Luke truly appreciates all that Steve is accomplishing for God’s glory! “Our church always supports Steve and the ministry. We are always glad to have him at the church.”
