November – the month of thanksgiving

What are your Thanksgiving traditions? Maybe a little football? Maybe some turkey and all the “fixin’s”?  But above all, I hope you have the established tradition of being thankful to God by setting aside time to truly thank Him for His blessing and provision.

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! His faithful love endures forever. Let them praise the Lord for His great love and for all the wonderful things He has done for them.” Psalm 107: 1, 8 NLT

This month, make a special effort to focus on your blessings rather than on your trials and hardships. Count your blessings. Maybe you could even keep a written list of those blessings, and add more each day as you think of them. As the song “Count Your Blessings” says, “Name them one by one and it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.”

I hope this will truly be the month of thanksgiving for you.
