We didn’t think it was possible but somehow the second race weekend at the Juniper Hills Campground just down the road from the Michigan International Speedway was even better than the last one in June.

The weather was fantastic, the crowds enthusiastic and attentive, and the performers- Southern Edge Band, Charee White, and the Solid Rock Strength Team -seemed to top themselves every time they strode on the Victory Weekend stage.

The #79 Victory Weekend Show Car enjoyed an especially welcome weekend as Steve said at least 500 people got in it for a closer inspection. If you want to check out some pictures of the event, go the Facebook portion of this website and take a look.

The tribute to veterans, active duty personnel, and local first responders was very moving with one mother asking for a medal for her son who is serving in Afghanistan and reports that relatives were texting service men and women around the world telling them what was happening in Michigan.
